The Rector of the WULS-SGGW granted the Rev. Bishop Roman Andrzejewski Award
The jury appreciated the consistent management of the university community by the winner in the spirit of respect for the tradition characterized by the concern for rural development by supporting family farms and raising love to the Polish soil. The principle of the candidate, saying that knowledge, intellect and moral attitude should be the highest values of Warsaw University of Life Sciences, was rated highly.
The chapter also recognized the special contribution of the Laureate to the development and modernization of the university. The WULS-SGGW is among the most modern life sciences universities of international prestige, it received the title of the most innovative and creative institution of higher education in Poland.
The Warsaw University of Life Sciences celebrates the 200th anniversary. The award is by the Rector, Professor Alojzy Szymański, understood as a symbolic act of honoring the scientific staff and the whole university community.
The Rev. Bishop Roman Andrzejewski award, named after a longtime Farmers National Priest, has been awarded in 2014 for the eleventh time. Established by the Foundation “Solidarna Wieś”, whose patron was the was co-founder of the awards, honors individuals who are especially meritorious in the work for the rural areas; for cultural and economic development of small towns and villages.
So far, Professor Andrzej Stelmachowski, Professor Maria Radomska, the Rev. Cardinal Józef Glemp, the Rev. Prelate Bogusław Bijak, the Rev. Bishop Alojzy Orszulik, dr Maria Stolzman, dr Barbara Fedyszak-Radziejowska, Roman Kluska, Josef Rottenaicher /Germany/ and the Rev. Archbishop Józef Michalik have received the Award.
The presentation of the awards will take place on February 26, 2015, in the auditorium of the Polish Episcopal Conference in Warsaw.
